Denver Chapter Meeting - Presentation on Waste, Fraud, and Abuse
Please join us for a special presentation and opportunity to share your health care stories at this Saturday's Denver Chapter meeting.
In the main presentation, Dr. Vince Markovchick will present fascinating and eye-opening statistics and information regarding the high costs or health care, limited services covered by insurance companies, and the extremely high salaries of CEOs and administrators.
About our speaker:
Vince Markovchick, M.D. FAAEM received a MD degree from Temple University School of Medicine in 1970. After a tour of duty as a USAF Flight Surgeon in SE Asia from 1971-73, he then completed a residency in Emergency Medicine at the University of Chicago in 1976. He worked full time as an Emergency Physician at Denver Health for 32 years serving as The Director of Emergency Medical Services from 1980-2009. He is also a past President of the American Board of Emergency Medicine. He is a Professor Emeritus of Emergency Medicine University of Colorado School of Medicine, and Member of PNHP. He serves as President of the Health Care for all Colorado Foundation.
In addition to this wonderful presentation, we are working with ColoradoCare to collect short video testimonials. We will have an on-site video studio set up from 10am to 1pm to get as many people as possible to tell us why ColoradoCare is important to them or how the current system has failed them. If you have a health care horror story, or simply wish to add your voice to the multitude of supporters in a way that helps people understand the personal value of universal health care (and the human cost of doing nothing), then please stop by. The videos and presentation are running independently and concurrently, so you do not have to attend the presentation if you just want to help with our video stories and testimonials. While the presentation runs until noon, we will remain on-site for video testimonials until 1 pm (so you can also do both!).
