Better and Cheaper - The Colorado Health Care Cost Analysis Task Force
NOTE: This is an In-Person meeting with Zoom option for remote participants.
RSVP response will also include the Zoom link for people that need to participate remotely.
What will it take to get our state legislature to support universal health care?
The Colorado state legislature discovered a year ago, through their own commissioned study, that universal health care in Colorado would be billions cheaper and far better than our current system.
But they spent the 2022 legislative session completely ignoring this landmark study and report conducted by the Colorado School of Public Health.
We have our work cut out for us, but with elections in November and a new session beginning in January there is hope that change is just around the corner.- What does the report say about what's possible in Colorado?
- What can we do to move the needle?
- What efforts are currently underway in Colorado and how can you get involved?
Our main speaker is TR Reid, an internationally known journalist and author. TR Reid has been a correspondent for The Washington Post and former chief of its Tokyo and London bureaus as well as a commentator for National Public Radio. TR Reid has made documentary films for National Geographic TV, PBS, and the A & E Network.
TR Reid will discuss the HB19-1176 Final Report of the Health Care Cost Analysis Task Force. The final report shows more proof that Medicare for All Saves Money and Saves Lives.
We will also hear from Bob Smith, Executive Director of the Colorado Business Group on Health. Bob has 38 years of experience as a hospital/health system executive, has co-authored two books on health care contracting, and is a member of the Colorado All-Payer Claims Database Advisory Committee. We welcome his insight on health system costs and performance.
There will be time for Q & A. Please join us!
