Medical Professionals for Universal Health Care
Stand Up.
Join the Inaugural Meeting of the
Medical Professionals for Universal Health care.
The U.S. health care system is broken.
Medical professionals must join together and work for
a universal health care system that focuses on patients and providers.
Join us at our inaugural meeting, Thursday, April 25 from 6:30-8pm, with special guest speaker, Michael Fine, MD.
We will have updates and a panel discussion with representatives from the event co-sponsors:
- Medical Professionals for Universal Health Care
- Colorado Chapter - Physicians for a National Health Program
- Health Care for All Colorado
- Health Care for All Colorado Foundation
About our Speaker:
Michael Fine, MD is a nationally known physician leader with a career spanning 40 years as a family physician; in public health, including as Director of the Rhode Island Department of Health; as an organizer and writer. His book, “Health Care Revolt: How to Organize, Build a Health Care System, and Resuscitate Democracy―All at the Same Time,” passionately makes the case that "The U.S. has put the fate of its health care in the so-called marketplace, where the few profit from the public’s ill health and accelerate the erosion of democracy in the process.” “Health Care Revolt” looks around the world for examples of health care systems that are effective and affordable, envisions such a system for the U.S., and creates a practical playbook for a revolution to protect health and strengthen democracy.
Dr. Fine’s presentation is the inaugural event for the Medical Professionals for Universal Health Care (MP4UHC), an activist organization under the auspices of the Colorado Foundation for Universal Health Care. Dr. Fine says medical professionals must take a leadership role in fixing the broken system and developing a universal health care system. As an activist organization, MP4UHC will reach out to medical professionals to provide information and recruit support for universal health care.
